FOUNDRY OPERATIONS
MOLDS

The custom shape and design of our mold patterns allow flexibility within the molding process to run multiple diameter patterns from small to large runs. The controlled and integrated process ensures consistent molds.

QUALITY CONTROL

An in-house lab with dedicated carbon, spectroscopic, and microstructure analysis equipment, used in conjunction with SPC, sets rigid standards in controlling the quality of our castings.

CASTINGS

Our castings are designed for tighter dimensional tolerances, better surface finish, and smaller draft angles with near net shape.

FOUNDRY

After years of operating our own on-site foundry with shell-molding process, we have perfected casting to maintain high volume flow rates, minimize costs, and provide superior quality castings. Burning resin during the pour creates an anti-oxidizing atmosphere, which slows the surface-cooling rate, promoting a ferritic-skin with excellent machining and fine-finish characteristics. This results in cast iron with properties that are beneficial to both installation and wear.

PATTERN DESIGN AND BUILDING

Hastings in-house CNC pattern-making machines allow for a wide range of pattern sizes, and provide the necessary accuracy in the shell-molding process.

SAND

Hastings uses the highest quality, ISO-registered resin sand suppliers. High quality sand results in less imperfections in the mold making process and less machining of the metal casting.
